JAM (Junior Adventurers at the Museum) Sessions are hands-on, inquiry-based STEM classes for elementary-age children at the Museum at Prairiefire in Overland Park. In Warmth in the Ice Age, kids take lessons from prehistoric animals such as mammoths and saber-toothed cats to learn how creatures stayed warm in harsh Ice Age climates. Classes start at 10:15 a.m.; spots are limited, so register in advance on the museum's website. The fee is $5 (free for members using their discount code), and cancellations need 24 hours' notice by email. Parents may stay in class or wait just outside, and siblings can explore the Discovery Room meanwhile.
