The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium runs single-day camps for children in kindergarten through 5th grade on days when schools are closed. Campers spend the day on animal antics, games, crafts, experiments and animal encounters with zoo educators. Each camp day runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and costs $65 per day, with 10% off for Friends of the Zoo members; parents can register for one day or add several dates for the same camper. Remaining 2026-27 dates are October 16, 29 and 30; November 20, 23, 24 and 25 (Thanksgiving week); December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30; and January 4 and 5. A parent packet with drop-off details is linked from the camp page, and the zoo offers a limited number of scholarships that subsidise up to 90% of the fee.
