The Johnson County Museum runs Kids' Day Out camps at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center when schools are closed. Children discover history through hands-on activities, explore the KidScape play area and museum exhibits, play games and enjoy down time, going outside when weather allows. The program is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and families may drop off and pick up at any time. Bring a lunch, snacks and a water bottle and dress for the weather. Dates are Thanksgiving break, November 23-25, and winter break, December 21, 22, 23 and 24 (the center is closed December 25). Five-year-olds can enrol if currently attending kindergarten. Enrolment is through JCPRD; fees are listed on the registration page.
