For four weekends Crown Center Square becomes a Hallmark-movie-style holiday town square. The core experience is free and open to the public: a Christmas Market and Holiday Hallmarket tent with vendors and Hallmark products, festive food and holiday drinks, photo spots around the Square, and Hallmark holiday light shows that start when a special guest lights the 100-foot Mayor's Christmas Tree (Fridays and Saturdays at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.; Sundays at 6 p.m.). A ticketed Light Walk through a display of lights with photo stops runs Fridays and Saturdays noon to 9 p.m. and Sundays noon to 8 p.m. Separate ticketed sessions with Hallmark stars, artists and writers take place at the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center. Families with young children can easily combine the light shows with the Crown Center ice terrace, Santa visits and the Crown Center attractions.
