An evening guided hike with a Southern Nevada Conservancy interpretive naturalist under the October full moon. Along a roughly 2-mile (3.2 km) moderate route, hikers look for night-blooming yuccas, search for constellations and listen to the desert after dark, while trivia questions and conversation explore how the full moon has shaped human history and the rhythms of desert life. The trail has uneven, rocky surfaces with minimal elevation gain, and prior hiking experience is recommended. The age limit is 10+, so it suits older kids and teens who are comfortable hiking at night. The program is free, but advance registration at the Red Rock TimeTap site is required and the trail location is sent after registering; a Scenic Drive timed-entry reservation is not needed. The organizer reports this session is full, with a waitlist available. Bring a headlamp or flashlight, layers and water.
