Upcoming dates: Sat, Nov 7 · Sat, Dec 5
The Aquarium of the Pacific and the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority run a monthly family volunteer morning restoring the Los Cerritos Wetlands on the Long Beach–Seal Beach border. Trained naturalists and local educators lead the two-hour sessions, which focus on pulling non-native weeds and protecting rare native plants while explaining how the wetland works. The whole family is welcome; children under 14 must be with an adult. It is free, but please register in advance. Meet Los Cerritos Wetlands staff at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and 1st Street in Seal Beach, ideally around 10:15 a.m. Wear closed-toe shoes (required), a hat and sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle; drinking water is provided but the event is plastic-bottle free. Participants can win a free Aquarium ticket and other prizes.
