North Miami's WinterNational Thanksgiving Day Parade, now in its 51st year, bills itself as South Florida's Thanksgiving Day celebration. On Thanksgiving morning the parade travels along NE 125 Street from NE 6th Avenue to NE 12th Avenue, with the main stage at North Miami City Hall, where seating is limited. Middle school, high school, college and community marching bands take part in a Battle of the Bands, joined by dance and cheer squads, flag corps, color guards and drill and step teams. Families line the route for two hours of music and marching from 10 AM to noon, so arrive early for a spot near the stage. The city's page does not list a cost; the North Miami Parks and Recreation Department answers questions at 305-895-9840.
