About this adventure

Riveredge Nature Center brings its free Family Nature Club to Lac Lawrann Conservancy in West Bend for an evening of outdoor, environmental-education activities that children and their grown-ups do together. Riveredge educators lead the group through the conservancy, a 145-acre preserve joined to Royal Oaks Park, with wetlands, open water, native hardwood forest, a red pine plantation, tallgrass prairie and glacial landscapes that shelter more than 300 plant species and over 200 bird species. Expect a mix of guided exploring and hands-on nature activities suited to whatever the November evening offers; on a 5 p.m. start it will be getting dark, so bring flashlights and dress for cold, wet ground. All ages are welcome, so preschoolers through teens can come with a parent, and every child must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. The program is free, with donations appreciated, but pre-registration is required by 11:59 p.m. on November 11.
