About this adventure
Cheekwood's six-week fall festival fills the 55-acre botanical garden with about 100,000 pumpkins and enters its final week. Families follow the new Marigold River, a ribbon of more than 2,500 orange, red and yellow blooms running from the Bradford Robertson Color Garden to Arboretum Lawn, to the Pumpkin Village, where three interactive pumpkin houses and stacks of colorful pumpkins make a backdrop for photos. Along the Carell Dogwood Trail, the Scarecrow Trail shows 15 storybook-themed scarecrows by local artists under the 2026 theme "Once Upon a Harvest." On weekends live bands play on the lawn (Tony Hannah on October 24, Jerry Tachoir on October 25), and families can bring a blanket for a picnic. Pumpkins can be bought to take home. A timed-entry ticket reserved in advance is required for every guest; when parking fills, walk-up tickets are sold only to rideshare arrivals.
