About this adventure
Discovery Center at Murfree Spring invites families to a community BioBlitz, a hands-on citizen-science morning in which participants of all ages team up to find and document as many living species as possible in the center's wetlands and along Lytle Creek. Kids search for birds, insects, plants, fish and anything else that lives there, learning from local naturalists while every find adds to a real snapshot of Murfreesboro's biodiversity. No experience is needed. Bring comfortable shoes that can get muddy, a water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray, and a smartphone or camera to photograph discoveries (the iNaturalist app is suggested), plus binoculars or magnifying glasses if you have them. The BioBlitz runs from 9 am to noon on Saturday, November 7.
