About this adventure

For its 41st year, Dickens of a Christmas turns historic downtown Franklin's Main Street into a Victorian holiday street fair for a weekend. Costumed musicians, dancers and carolers fill the street, and children can meet and talk with Dickens characters: the nefarious Fagin from Oliver Twist, Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the rest of the Cratchit family from A Christmas Carol, plus a Victorian Father and Mother Christmas who hand out treats to kids. A Victorian Village block has holiday dancers and entertainers, StoryTimes run during the festival, and there is live music on the Main Stage and an Acoustic Stage. An artisan marketplace and food vendors line the street and downtown shops stay open. Hours are Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm, and families can drop in for an hour or stay the day.
