Chestnut Hill's business district turns the last week of October into Halloween on the Hill. From October 24 to 31, 2026, families are invited to stroll Germantown Avenue and Bethlehem Pike in costume between 1 and 3 pm, stopping at participating shops and restaurants that display a 'Treats Here' sign to collect candy and non-food goodies. Some businesses also take part in the Teal Pumpkin Project, started by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) to make trick-or-treating safer for children with food allergies: a teal pumpkin marks a stop that offers non-food treats. The stroll is a walk-around through the historic village rather than a single gathering.
