About this adventure

The Hoyt Arts Center's annual Holiday Open House is a free afternoon in its decorated historic mansions in New Castle. Children can have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, listen to stories, meet Santa's elves, and make ornaments, gift tags and other decorations at art tables set up for all ages. A holiday scavenger hunt leads families through the houses, local artists demonstrate watercolor, drawing, felting, ceramics and stained glass, and musicians play seasonal pieces on piano, cello and guitar. Cookies and hot chocolate are complimentary. The day also opens the Hoyt's Holiday Gift Shop of original work by regional artists, which stays open through January 2, 2027, and a holiday raffle raises money for the center's free community art programs such as After School Arts.
