Calico is an 1880s silver-mining town preserved as a San Bernardino County regional park near Yermo. The town is open daily 9 AM to 5 PM (closed Christmas Day). Daily admission is $8 for adults, $5 for youth ages 4-11 and free for ages 3 and younger; dogs are $1 on a 6-foot leash. Inside the town, the Lucy Lane Museum is free, while the Maggie Mine (an 1880s silver mine with exhibits), the Calico Odessa Railroad train tour, the Mystery Shack optical-illusion tour and gold panning each charge an additional fee. There are shops, a popcorn wagon, a sweets shop and the Calico House Restaurant (8 AM to 5 PM daily). An annual family pass for Calico only is $50. The county also stages seasonal festivals here, including Calico Ghost Haunt in late October and Calico Holiday Fest after Thanksgiving, which have separate festival admission.
