Riverside County Parks' nature center on 1,500 acres along the Santa Ana River, on Arlington Avenue east of Norco, with access to about 25 miles of hiking and equestrian trails and views over the river bottom from the bluff. Inside, children can see live animals such as snakes, turtles, frogs and toads, try hands-on activities and look at reconstructed scenes of animals in their habitats. It is an easy, low-cost outing for families with toddlers through elementary-age children. The nature center is open Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm, and charges $6 per adult and $3 per child. The center's 2026 fall activity list includes a Knee High Naturalist native-planting morning on November 7 (9–11 am) and a Critter Meet & Greet with turtles and tortoises on November 21 (noon–3 pm). Scout programs and group programs are available by appointment.
