UCR Botanic Gardens

A botanic garden on the UC Riverside campus with trails through plant collections including a butterfly garden, herb garden, native plants and Alder Canyon. Open hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-3:30 pm (last entry 3:00 pm, gates locked 3:30) and the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month 8:00 am-2:00 pm (last entry 1:30 pm); beginning in 2027 the Gardens will be open every Sunday 8-2. The Gardens are closed November 11, November 26-27 and December 24-January 1, 2027. The suggested admission donation is $5/adult, paid by QR code or cash at the Gatehouse. Campus parking requires a permit ($3.75/hr visitor short-term or daily rates in Lot 13). Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult; groups over 10 should schedule a tour. The annual Art in the Gardens sale is held in November.
