Accredited zoo and botanical garden in Palm Desert with more than 600 animals in African, Australian and Americas habitats, desert gardens and trails, a splash pad, giraffe feeding and other paid encounters, and a daily schedule of keeper talks. Open daily 8:00am – 5:00pm with last admission at 4:00pm (the visit page also lists a 7:00am – 1:30pm schedule, last admission 12:30pm, for the summer season); closed December 25th. Advance ticket purchase is required and prices may vary by date. Children under 3 are free; all guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older.
