About this adventure

From the Monday before Thanksgiving through December 11, the City of Riverside's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department sets up Santa's magical mailboxes in five community centers so children can write a letter to Santa Claus and post it themselves. Some sites have a stationery area with paper and supplies, so kids can sit down and write or draw their wish list on the spot; others are a quick drop-off, so families may want to bring a finished letter. The mailboxes are at Orange Terrace Community Center, Bordwell Park/Stratton Community Center, Hunt Park/Renck Community Center, Nichols Park/Joyce Jackson Community Center and La Sierra Community Center, and letters can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. It suits preschoolers who are just learning to write their name as well as older kids writing a full letter, and it pairs well with the city's Breakfast with Santa mornings on December 12 at several of the same centers.
