This month's 4th Saturday nature walk at Phil Hardberger Park is about wildlife. Presenter Christine Westerman, who worked on the studies behind the park's master plan, gives an illustrated talk on common park animals with night photos, many taken on the Land Bridge, and passes around the park's collection of pelts and skulls. The group then walks nearby trails looking for signs of wildlife. The walk is about a mile on flat natural-surface trail at a slow pace, and the park rates it easy and suitable for families. The whole program lasts about two hours. Arrive by 7:50 am to sign in. Minors must come with a parent or guardian; no dogs. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes and bring water, a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent (chiggers).
