Phil Hardberger Park's Art in the Park series offers a teen and adult session on iris paper folding, led by Kayla in the Urban Ecology Center Gathering Hall. Iris folding is not origami: participants fold and layer strips of paper in a set pattern to build a three-dimensional spiral design. The class is for ages 13 and up and runs from 10 to 11:30 am on a Thursday. Class sizes are limited and registration is required (it opened September 16). The park notes the program is outdoors, so dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. A separate children's session runs the day before.
