The Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz — the soul, gospel and funk retelling of The Wizard of Oz — plays the historic Majestic Theatre downtown on Halloween weekend as part of its all-new national tour from Broadway. There are two performances: Friday, October 30 at 7:30 pm and a Saturday matinee on October 31 at 3:30 pm, which leaves time for trick-or-treating afterwards. The show runs about 2 hours 20 minutes including one intermission, and the producers recommend it for ages 8 and up. It contains haze, smoke and flashing lights. Backpacks and bags larger than 12 × 6 × 12 inches are not allowed (diaper and medical bags are). Doors open about an hour before curtain.
