Wurstfest is New Braunfels' ten-day German heritage festival in Landa Park near the headwaters of the Comal River. More than 40 bands play on five stages, including the Edelweiss Kinder Chor von New Braunfels and the Kinder Tanzer children's dance group, along with polka, waltz and yodeling contests, traditional German food and sausage. Children 12 and under get in free every day, and general admission is free Monday through Thursday (November 9–12). On other days adults pay $15 online/$20 at the gate (Nov 6, 8, 13, 15) or $25/$30 on the busy Saturdays (Nov 7, 14). The festival suggests the shuttle or ride-share rather than hunting for parking. Beer is part of the festival, so weekday daytime visits suit young families best.
