At Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont, park naturalists invite visitors to take a turn at an old-fashioned cider press and squeeze the juice out of fresh apples. Children help crank and press, learn how long people have been turning apples into a sweet drink, and then everyone tastes a sample of the cider they made together. It is a short, hands-on drop-in activity that fits well into a farm visit, alongside the animals, the Patterson House grounds and the historic farm fields. No registration is needed; just arrive at the start time. The activity itself has no separate fee, but Ardenwood's regular admission applies on the day, so check the farm's posted admission rates before you go.
