A kid-focused introduction to bird identification at the Coyote Hills Regional Park Visitor Center in Fremont. Naturalists use games to teach young birders how to tell species apart by size, shape, color and behavior, so children can practise their new skills the next time the family walks a trail. Coyote Hills sits on the edge of the bay marshes and is a busy stop for wintering birds, which makes it a good place to try the skills straight away after the session. The program is recommended for ages 5 and up with a parent taking part. It is a free drop-in program with no registration; parking fees apply where charged at the park entrance.
