The Concord Police Department and Concord Police Association host their fifth annual Trunk or Treat in the front parking lot of the police department on Galindo Street. Children come in costume and walk from car to decorated car collecting treats, and the afternoon also includes goodie bags, food, games and prizes. Everything is free, including parking at the BART overflow lot on Mesa Street south of Mt. Diablo Street. It runs from 3 to 6 pm, so it suits families with younger children who want an early, daylight alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating, and it is a relaxed chance for kids to meet local officers.
