About this adventure

History Park is a 14-acre outdoor village at the south end of San José's Kelley Park, a short walk from Happy Hollow. Original and reproduction homes, shops and landmarks line paved streets to show how people lived and worked in the Santa Clara Valley from the 1850s onward, from orchard days to the rise of high technology. The grounds are open every day for a stroll; on weekend afternoons the historic houses and museums open their doors, a restored trolley gives rides around the park, and O'Brien's Ice Cream Parlor serves old-fashioned treats. Guided History Park tours run on Wednesdays and Fridays (book through the calendar), and History San José hosts cultural festivals and workshops through the year. Parking is off Phelan Avenue.
