A Parks Tacoma Park Guide leads a two-hour Halloween-morning bird walk through Point Defiance, introducing the birds of local parks along with the folklore and superstitions attached to them. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Bring binoculars if you have them; spares can be borrowed on request. Walkers need to manage up to two miles of unpaved, uneven trail, so it suits school-age children and families used to hiking. Drop-ins are welcome and it is free; meet at the Point Defiance Lodge.
