One of the few untouched islands on the Gulf Coast, reachable only by boat: by private vessel or the Caladesi Island Ferry from Honeymoon Island State Park. Families can stroll pristine beaches, swim in blue-green water, shell, kayak the bayside mangrove paddling trails or walk the nature trail to the historic Scharrer Homestead. Florida Beach Services offers casual beach fare and a small gift shop by the ferry dock. Open 8 a.m. to sunset, 365 days a year; $6 per boat entrance fee. Effective Sept. 29, 2026 only some marina docks are open for day use (utility fee $7 per vessel plus entrance fee); overnight marina stays are not available.
