Promote a family activity
Grassy Knees lists family events, places and programs across the largest US metro areas, each linked to the organizer’s own page. Being listed is free. If you run an activity, you can pay to show it to more families. Paid placements are always labeled, and they never change a listing’s details, reviews or rating.
To buy, open your listing on the site and choose “Promote it”, or start from the directory. You’ll see the exact price before you pay.
Featured listing
First row of your metro’s Explore page, a highlighted map pin and the top of the city guide, labeled “Featured”, for 7 days at a time (up to 4 weeks). Up to 4 Featured listings per metro at once. The price depends on how many other listings are within 5 miles of your venue:
| Neighborhood | Other listings within 5 miles | Price per week |
|---|---|---|
| Open | 0–2 | Free, one week every 90 days |
| Quiet | 3–9 | $15 |
| Standard | 10–19 | $25 |
| Busy | 20 or more | $39 |
Weekend email sponsor
First pick in your metro’s Thursday “This weekend with kids” email, labeled “Sponsored”, plus the top of that week’s This Weekend page. One sponsor per metro per issue, up to 4 issues in a row. $19 per issue.
City sponsor
A “presented by” line with your name and link on a metro’s city guide and This Weekend pages, and in that metro’s weekly emails. One sponsor per metro, 30 days at a time (up to 3). Reviewed before it goes live. The price follows the metro’s audience over the last 30 days, shown before you buy and locked for the time you purchase:
| Tier | Guide views or email subscribers | Price per 30 days |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | Under 2,000 views and under 200 subscribers | $79 |
| Growing | 2,000–10,000 views or 200–1,000 subscribers | $249 |
| Established | 10,000–50,000 views or 1,000–5,000 subscribers | $599 |
