Terms of service

What Grassy Knees is

Grassy Knees is a free directory of family activities in US metro areas. Listings are researched from organizers’ own pages and link to them, with the date we last checked. Organizers run their own events. We don’t sell tickets, take registrations or run activities, and we can’t guarantee that a listing’s details are current. Confirm dates, prices, ages and availability with the organizer before you go.

Accounts and reviews

An account is optional. You’re responsible for what you post. Reviews, photos and videos must be about a real experience with the organizer, and must not be unlawful, hateful, sexual, or reveal another person’s private information. Content that breaks these rules can be removed, and accounts that repeatedly break them can be closed. You keep ownership of what you post and give us permission to show it on Grassy Knees. You can delete your account at any time; see Privacy.

Promotions

Anyone signed in can pay to promote a current listing. Prices are published on the Advertise page and shown again before payment. A promotion:

• changes where an existing listing appears and adds a visible “Featured” or “Sponsored” label;
• does not let you edit the listing, does not add a verified badge, and does not change its reviews or rating;
• never appears first in filtered searches or other sort orders, and is never mixed into listing details without a label.

Featured placements start on the day of purchase and run in whole weeks. Weekend email sponsorships run for the weekly issues shown at checkout. City sponsorships run for 30-day periods and go live after we review the sponsor name, line and link. We may decline or remove a sponsor line that is misleading, unlawful or unsuitable for families, with a refund for the unused time.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record and handles taxes and receipts. Prices are in US dollars.

• If a promoted event is cancelled or sold out, or the listing is removed, the placement stops and unused full weeks are refunded.
• If a weekly email isn’t sent for your metro, your sponsorship moves to the next issue or is refunded, your choice.
• If a city sponsor line isn’t approved, the full amount is refunded.
• Other refund requests within 7 days of purchase are refunded for the time not yet run. Write to hello@grassyknees.com.

Free featured weeks

Listings in areas with few other activities nearby can get one free Featured week every 90 days. We may end this offer or change its rules; weeks already granted keep running.

Changes and availability

The site is provided as it is. We may change features, listings or these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Prices for a promotion you’ve already paid for don’t change.
