About this adventure
The Dunwoody Preservation Trust runs its Camp Flashback history day camp at the 1870 Donaldson-Bannister Farm during Thanksgiving week, for children ages 6 to 12. Each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. mixes hands-on history with seasonal projects and active games; the trust's sample list includes a How to Catch a Turkey scavenger hunt, a gratitude tree, a pumpkin catapult, a 'Who Stole the Thanksgiving Feast' escape room, a petting-zoo visit, finger knitting, candle making, friendship bracelets and homemade biscuits. Families can book the whole week or single days (Monday to Wednesday and Friday; camp is closed on Thanksgiving Day), and extended care stretches the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an extra flat fee. Campers bring a water bottle, lunch and a snack, and the camp is peanut-free. Space is limited, and refunds are not given within 14 days of the camp week.
