About this adventure

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights turns its Saturday Adventures family program into a Craftivism drop-in built around the Bracelet Exchange Project. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., visitors of any age make a handmade bracelet and write a short message of encouragement for a future guest. After donating theirs, each participant takes home a bracelet and note made by an earlier visitor, so over the month the exchange grows into a chain of shared messages about hope, empathy and belonging. It is a gentle way to talk with children about kindness and giving during the holiday season, and the museum's Saturday programs are designed around its Children's Gallery for ages 12 and under. The event page links to a registration form but does not say whether museum admission is required to join the craft.
