Ballet Folklórico de Austin celebrates Día de Muertos with a colourful tribute to ancestors, performing dances from all eight regions of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, which the company calls the cultural heart of Mexico. Before the show, audience members are invited to bring a photo of a loved one who has passed, or that person's favourite object, to place on the onstage ofrenda — a meaningful way to talk with children about remembering family. The evening performance begins at 5:00 pm at the Long Center. All patrons, regardless of age, need a ticket; ticket prices shown on the Long Center site include fees. This is an indoor venue-rental event presented by Ballet Folklórico de Austin.
