About this adventure
The restored Swanee Theatre in downtown Kannapolis stages its own family production of A Christmas Carol over the weekend before Christmas. The theatre bills it as an all-new annual tradition for the whole family: Dickens's story of Scrooge and the three ghosts is told with music, dance, puppetry and stage illusions, which helps younger children follow along. There are three performances, Friday December 18 and Saturday December 19 at 7 p.m. (doors 6:30) and a Sunday matinee on December 20 at 3 p.m. (doors 2:30), each running about two hours. All ages are welcome, but anyone under 18 must come with a parent or guardian. Tickets are sold online through Etix; the lobby bar sells drinks and concession snacks, outside food is allowed but outside drinks are not.
