On selected Sunday afternoons McDowell Nature Center brings out one of its live animal ambassadors for a short, close-up encounter. A naturalist introduces the animal and shares fun facts about its adaptations and how it lives in the wild, and children can ask questions and see the animal up close. Each meet-and-greet lasts about half an hour (4 to 4:30 p.m.). No pre-registration is needed; it is not a drop-off program and an adult must take part with the child. Suitable for all ages, including toddlers.
