The Kannapolis Christmas Parade is one of the few nighttime holiday parades in North Carolina, with entries covered in colorful lights. Dozens of floats and marching bands start at Main Street and Laureate Way by the North Carolina Research Campus parking deck, pass Kannapolis City Hall, turn at the Gem Theatre and travel down West Avenue to Vance Street. Bring a chair or blanket for the curb. No on-street parking is allowed on West Avenue, Laureate Way or Main Street from 6 a.m. that day, so plan to park nearby and walk. Free to watch.
