About this adventure

The Town of Waxhaw's annual Christmas Parade rolls through Downtown Waxhaw on Sunday afternoon, December 13, 2026, starting at 3 p.m. Local school marching bands, floats and entries from more than 70 businesses and community groups make up the line-up, and the parade ends with an appearance by Santa Claus. Announcers are stationed along the whole route, so families can hear who each group is wherever they stand. The parade draws a big crowd: the town asks people to arrive early and expect delays, and parking is no longer allowed along the route, which closes to inbound traffic at 2:30 p.m. and to all vehicles at 2:45 p.m. The town suggests parking at the Waxhaw Downtown Park on Givens Street or at 521 N. Broome Street, with accessible parking on N. Church Street and beside the Waxhaw Woman's Club. Bring blankets or chairs and dress warmly for a winter afternoon outside.
