Indian Trail's annual Christmas Parade fills Indian Trail Road with festive floats, marching bands and performers on the first Saturday evening in December, and Santa Claus makes a special appearance at the end. The parade runs from 4 to 6 p.m. and is free to watch from the roadside, so families can bring chairs and blankets and pick a spot along the route. The same evening the town holds Winterfest at Chestnut Square Park from 6 p.m., so the two can be combined into one outing.
