In Gaston County 32 miles west of Charlotte, with two peaks offering Piedmont views, about 20 miles of trails at Sparrow Springs plus Linwood and Boulders accesses, paddling and fishing at Sparrow Springs, and the Ridgeline Trail linking to Kings Mountain parks in South Carolina. Good birdwatching.
