In Iredell County about 40 miles north of Charlotte, the park covers about 17 miles of Lake Norman's northern shoreline and has the Itusi Trail mountain-bike system (nearly 31 miles of single-track). Park Lake offers quiet fishing and paddling; heron rookeries on two islands. Boat rentals and tackle loaner program at the Visitor Center.
