Homeschool Series: Nature's Winter Survival Challenge (Grades 2 + 3)

About this adventure

An outdoor homeschool class at Daniel Stowe Conservancy for students in grades 2 and 3, led by the conservancy's environmental educators. Children take on a challenge-style mission to find out what happens to plants and animals in winter: how organisms survive as warm-season abundance gives way to cooler temperatures, less food and changing habitat. They search for environmental clues of seasonal change and investigate how those changes affect plants, animals and insects during fall and winter. The class runs two hours and costs $15; registration is required.
