The Mint Museum marks its 90th anniversary — and the opening of the exhibition Brilliant by Design: The Handbags of Judith Leiber — with a free Sunday afternoon party at Mint Museum Randolph. Families can make a fanciful birthday hat, design a custom charm for a backpack or bag, follow a scavenger safari through the exhibition looking for curious creatures and patterns, and watch local leatherwork artists demonstrate their craft. Live music plays on the terrace and food trucks are on site (food purchases extra). Four hours, 1 to 5 p.m.; drop in any time.
