Matthews Playhouse's community-theatre holiday show is Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, performed by local actors of all ages. The six Herdman children — the most unruly kids in town — bully their way into the lead roles of the church Christmas play, and everyone expects disaster; instead, hearing the Christmas story for the first time, they understand it in a way no one else does. A comedy in two acts, about two hours long, recommended for all ages. Performances run December 11–20, 2026. Adult tickets are $23–$32 by seating zone, with reduced prices for seniors, military, students and children; at the door, all remaining seats are sold at the Premium price, and online sales close one hour before each show.
