Families walk through Vogt Woods by flashlight on Wednesday, October 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, reading a special Halloween story posted along the trail. Every few pages there is a stop to collect tricks and treats, and a bag is provided. Costumes are encouraged, and the park district asks walkers to wear gear and shoes suitable for a walk in the woods. Only children need to register; the fee is listed as $5 to $7. It is an evening story walk for kids with their grown-ups, so bring a flashlight for each child.
