A two-morning Halloween party for young children in Highfield Discovery Garden, the children's garden at Glenwood Gardens on Springfield Pike. Great Parks plans crafts, short story times, pumpkin-themed science activities and meet-and-greets with some 'not-so-creepy crawlers', and families are encouraged to come in costume. It is aimed at ages 2-7 with their grown-ups and runs 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 28, a good weekday option for preschoolers. The listed cost is $7, and the fee is waived for Highfield Discovery Garden passholders.
