About this adventure

A two-hour evening craft workshop at the Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center in Covington where young makers turn ordinary pinecones into whimsical woodland moths. Inspired by moths seen in nature in the fall, students design their own symmetrical wing patterns based on real moth species, cut wings from felt and EVA foam, assemble the layered 3D piece with hot glue under supervision, and finish it with paint pens and acrylic details. Each student goes home with a finished Pinecone Moth sculpture that can sit in a seasonal centerpiece or wreath, plus a feel for basic sculpture-style construction. All supplies are included, and the class is taught by Baker Hunt instructor Chase Carroll.
