About this adventure
When there is snow on the ground, the City of Dublin opens the sledding hill at Scioto Park on Riverside Drive from 7:30 a.m. until dusk. It is a free, unstaffed winter spot: bring your own sleds, read the safety rules posted at the park, and plan to supervise small children on the slope. The city encourages grown-ups to ride too. Restrooms are available at the park, which also has river views and trails along the Scioto. Sledding is weather-dependent, so check conditions after a snowfall before heading out; it works for preschoolers riding with a parent through teens. For skating in the same city, the Riverside Crossing Park rink is a short drive away, and the natural rink at Coffman Park opens only after several days below freezing.
