About this adventure
Highlands Ranch Community Association's Haunted Forest has a gentler early session for families who want the spooky atmosphere without jump scares. During Fright Lite, visitors walk the roughly three-quarter-mile wooded trail to see the lights, music, decorations and themed scenes while the scare actors are not acting and may not be in full costume as they get ready for the full haunt. It is a good option for younger kids and anyone nervous about the regular Haunted Forest. Park at Rocky Heights Middle School and follow the trail south to the Haunted Forest Community Area; wear sturdy shoes because the route can go over uneven, unimproved ground, and participants accept a liability waiver.
