Littleton Museum (City of Littleton)

An outdoor evening on the Littleton Museum's living history farms, where costumed interpreters recreate the winter holidays of the 19th century. Families can take a wagon ride pulled by mule or horse teams on the 1860s farm, meet Santa (dressed as Father Christmas in a green robe) in the icehouse shed, and warm up at three bonfires. In the Lecture Hall, children can write letters to Santa and color pages made from images of the farm. Volunteers demonstrate blacksmithing at the forge, and the 1860s McBroom Cabin and 1890s Bemis House show period Christmas decorations. Hot cider, gingersnaps and cornbread are served, and carolers, a handbell choir and a singer-guitarist perform. All activities and refreshments are included in the ticket. General admission tickets go on sale Friday, November 13 at 9 a.m. (Friends members: November 6), online or at the museum front desk with cash or check. Tickets are nonrefundable. Farm paths are gravel and can be muddy or icy. Wheelchairs and strollers can be borrowed free at reception, and pets are not allowed.
