Downtown Detroit's outdoor skating rink sits in Campus Martius Park beside Detroit's Christmas Tree, with the skyline as backdrop; USA Today 10Best readers voted it the No. 1 ice rink in the country in 2024 and 2025. For the 2026–27 season it opens daily from Nov. 21. Through Jan. 3 hours are Monday–Thursday and Sunday 11 a.m.–10 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–midnight, including holidays (Christmas Day noon–10 p.m.; New Year's Eve 11 a.m.–10 p.m.); from Jan. 5 to March 1 hours are shorter. Admission is $14 for adults 13–58 and $10 for children 12 and under, seniors 59+ and military/first responders; skate rental is $5. Bank of America cardholders get $2 off. A heated two-story lounge, Chalet 313, overlooks the ice. Group rates: 313-963-9393.
